Many students do not meet the admission requirements right away to go to straight to university. In addition, the tuition costs can be prohibitive. In short, you will save money by going through ITD instead of straight to university.

For many international students, studying in Canada can be a dream come true. However, the admission requirements and the cost of education can be a major hurdle for many. Fortunately, there is a Pathway Program that helps students transition from ITD Canada to BCIT in a cost-effective and efficient way. In this article, we will explore the Pathway Program, its benefits, and options for students.
The Pathway Program is a one-year program that prepares international students to meet the admission requirements for BCIT, one of the leading polytechnic institutes in Canada. The Pathway Program is offered at two locations, Vancouver and Vernon, and has two streams: Hospitality and Business Administration.
To enroll in the Pathway Program, students have to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $350. After that, they can choose either the hospitality or business administration program and pay $11,000 for the diploma. Students who don’t meet the language requirements for BCIT can also pay an additional $4,000 for the ESL program, which will help them improve their English from IELTS 5.5 to 6.5 academic level.
The major advantage of choosing the Pathway Program over applying directly to BCIT is that students with an English level of IELTS 5.5 can still qualify for the program. In contrast, BCIT requires an IELTS score of 6.5 academic, which is not possible for many students. The Pathway Program helps students achieve the required level of English during their one-year program at ITD Canada.

The cost of the Pathway Program is $15,350 Canadian, which includes the registration fee, the diploma, and the ESL program (if required). The students will pay $4,850 for the first installment and $3,500 for the remaining three payments or pay the full amount in one installment.
Once students complete the Pathway Program, they have two options to continue their studies at BCIT. The first option is to pay $14,000 (approximate) for one year of study at BCIT, which will lead to an advanced diploma and a one-year Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). The second option is to pay $28,000 (approximate) for two years of study at BCIT, which will lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree and three years of PGWP.
However, not all students may meet the language requirements after completing the Pathway Program. In that case, they have four options available. The first option is to graduate with a one-year diploma from ITD Canada and pursue other opportunities. The second option is to pay an additional $1,850 to switch to a co-op program, which will provide a work permit for one year. The third option is to pay $2,000 for an additional three months of ESL training to achieve the required language level. The fourth option is to take the ESL program directly at BCIT for $4,000 (approximate).
This Pathway Program is an excellent opportunity for international students who want to study at BCIT but don’t meet the admission requirements. The program provides an affordable and effective way to improve language skills and prepare for higher education. The program also offers several options for students who don’t meet the requirements, including a one-year diploma, co-op programs, and ESL training. The Pathway Program is a gateway to a successful career in Canada and an excellent opportunity for international students to fulfill their dreams.
